A new phenomenon is developing in Europe and North America ...clearance penny auction websites. Everywhere on the web, in blogs, you can read stories about happy winners who 'won' amazing products, usually quite expensive, for a pittance. "On MadBid the items come from closing stores, clearance auctions and bankruptcies. It’s because they get their products so cheap that they are able to offer such low prices compared to the usual selling price."

Many will be aware the I promote the idea that Carrick and Boyle are two neighbouring towns in a beautiful part of Ireland. I believe that it would benefit both towns greatly, if in some arenas, we were to promote and advertise jointly.
» We share a commonality, but are yet different in so many ways. In trading, attractions and other areas, what one town lacks, the other can supply. Both towns have excellent shops, the N4 and rail links. Boyle has King House, Boyle Abbey, its Musical Society, Civic Art Collection etc while Carrick has its hotels, cinema, swimming pool, The Dock etc., and all are no more than a 15 minute car journey from each other.
